ANTEQUERA

Antequera lies at the geographical centre of Andalucia at the foot of the Sierra del Torcal, where the erosion of the limestone rock during thousands of years has produced extraordinary karstic rock formations.

Walking around Antequera is like strolling through different periods of history whilst at the same time enjoying a completely modern town.

Life here is tranquil and traditional. Roman remains can be found everywhere. At the highest point of the town there is a Moorish castle and below it the church of Santa Maria and the Nájera palace, today used as the municipal museum.
